Just Me

So, just to start off a little background about myself should suffice. I am not a computer person and I definitely would not classify myself as someone who is up to date on all of the random happenings in the digital world. I grew up in a home with no Internet, no video games, limited cable, and lots of time spent outside in the yard. I only really started using a computer on a consistent basis when I moved out of my home and went to college. Don't think that I did not enjoy myself growing up though; my brothers and I did wonders with a little video camera, bicycles, and some wood for jumps. My dad was also really good at getting us up into the Sierra Nevada Mountains. I grew up camping, fly fishing, and hiking and I love those things still today.

I very much enjoy the beach. I grew up in North San Diego county and spent lots of time in the surf. Body surfing is my favorite activity at the beach but I will pull out my ocean kayak every so often and surf the waves in that. It doesn't really matter what is going on at the beach, it is always fun.

I am really excited for the Digital Civilization class. If anyone needs to improve their skills in the digital world it is me. The entire concept of the class is really interesting and I am stoked to be able to focus on applying what I learn instead of just regurgitating facts on a bubble sheet.

So here goes getting into it.
